HackGBGay Platform - Privacy
Overview
This platform is made by hackers and privacy-minded nerds, it doesn't store more data
about you than it has to. Note that this policy only describes the hack.gbgay.com digital event platform
and not the membership of the HackGBGay organisation (become a member today!)
Data Stored:
- Basic access log (IP-address, endpoint access, timestamp)
- Username
- Email (only if supplied)
- a hash of your password using a modern and reasonably secure hashing agorithm (argon2id)
- Conference attendence status
- Time of signup
Data usage:
What little data we collect is only used to make the event function and will
not be used for any
advertisment, profiling, or other purposes. We will never willingly give any third party access to your data.
Data storage:
The platform is hosted on a physical server in an apartment located in Sweden.
The traffic is proxied through a digitalocean VPS (in the Netherlands) and TLS is used between both browser and
VPS and Server.
Data retention:
We only hold your data as long as we need in relation to the conference event.
After the event the platform will be taken offline and personal information removed from the database.
We reserve the right to keep certain anonymized metadata from the platform as to better plan future events.
Examples of such data is: number of atendees, which challenges were solved and how many times they were solved.
On the topic of sending you emails:
Those who choose to register with an email address (which is completely optional) may recieve emails before the
event if the HackGBGay team
feels the need to send out practical updates and relevant logistics information regarding the event.
The HackGBGay team may also send out an email after the event requesting feedback and ask follow-up questions.
Your rights
In accordance with data protection laws such as GDPR you have the right to have your data updated
if its incorrect or deleted should you no longer wish to attend. To exercise those rights please
reach out to gbgay+dataprivacy@proton.me with
the email you registered with (if provided). If you registered without setting an email we may
need to use alternative methods of authenticating that the account belongs to you.
You (as the data-subject) also have the right to lodge a complaint
against HackGBGay (org-nummer: 802550-5903) with Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY) if you believe that the
organisation has failed to live up to its obligations as outlined in
